Freelance Ghostwriter Service

First, I'd like to thank you for your interest in my ghostwriting service. If you have never hired a ghostwriter before, take your time and look around the site. If you have questions, feel free to email or phone me, and I'd be delighted to answer any specific questions that you may have.

What is a ghostwriter?

A ghostwriter is someone who writes fiction or non-fiction books, speeches, articles, or any other kind of writing for another person. Celebrities often use ghostwriters to write their autobiographies. Business people hire ghostwriters to craft speeches or articles for publication. However, a person doesn't have to be famous or rich to hire a ghostwriter. Often people hire ghostwriters for projects they, for whatever reason, cannot complete themselves.

The cliche that “everyone has at least one book inside them” endures because it is true. Although everyone may have a great idea for a book, not everyone has the time or skills to write the book. Those people hire a ghostwriter.

Whose name appears as the author?

Sometimes a ghostwriter will be acknowledged by being named on the cover. It may say something like:

Joe Smith
With Cora L. Foerstner

When you see this on a cover, assume that the person's name who follows the "with" is the ghostwriter. Sometimes the ghostwriter will be acknowledged in the front matter when the author is thanking people; sometimes the ghostwriter is never acknowledged. It depends on level of comfort the person who hired the ghostwriter has acknowledging the ghostwriter's work. Ghostwriters generally do not expect to be acknowledged on the cover.

For what kinds of writing do people hire a ghostwriter?

-- autobiography or memoir
-- novels
-- articles
-- speeches
-- book proposals
-- query letters

There are many more possibilities that could be added to the list.

What does it cost to hire you?

Each person's ghostwriting needs are different. I will discuss your ideas and you project with you. If you have started writing, or have notes and research information, I'll look over what you have, and give you an estimate of cost. It's free to get an estimate and you are under no obligation to buy.

How long does it take to complete a book?

Again, this is individual.
